ANSWER...
The term ‘Celebrant’ is still often unfamiliar to many people, although these days, most UK ceremonies are officiated by Celebrants.

A Celebrant can officiate a number of unique ceremonies...
Wedding Ceremonies
Civil Partnerships
Vow Renewals
Naming Ceremonies
Funerals & Celebrations of Life

Choosing a civil ceremony identifies you to be a free thinker, master of your own destiny and a desire for something a little alternative.

As Civil Ceremonies are unrestricted by law, I can officiate your ceremony in any location and venue. This autonomy also allows you to consider ways in which to make your ceremony more personal. Together we will create a ceremony which is truly unique and will signify the importance of your occasion. Allowing freedom to reflect your hopes, dreams and desires, without the burden on conformity!
The ability to build a relationship with your Celebrant is key to ensuring your ceremony is unique and personal. As a Celebrant, I pride myself on the ‘personal touch’, focussing on what is important to my clients and ensuring I deliver on the big day. Sharing such intimate occasions with my clients inevitably results in a new friendship, which is one of the reasons why I adore being a Celebrant!

The Legalities...
Celebrant ceremonies are not legally binding, so you will still need to officially register your marriage, as recognised by English law, in a Registry Office etc. The cost for this is around £50 and can be as informal as you require. Once the legal marriage registration has taken place, there is no need to hold your customised ceremony in a licensed venue. You are free to choose any venue, any place and any time.

For more information on the legal aspects of your wedding in a registry office or place of worship, please see the Government website here: https://www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-partnerships/overview.

Legal registration of births and deaths, must also take place at your local registry office. Contact your local registry office for more information https://www.gov.uk/register-offices.
